1. – Evelien, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I live in Boxmeer.
Boxmeer is a small village in the south of the Netherlands.
I grew up here as well. What I really like about Boxmeer is how charming and village-like it is. Everyone knows each other, and they always organize fun events, like the lights parade or carnival.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
My hobbies are fitness and, recently, beauty pageants.
I think it’s very important to stay healthy and keep active, which is why I go to the gym.
Recently, a new hobby has been added: beauty pageants. It has taught me a lot and helped me grow as a person. It feels good to see myself grow.
What makes me laugh are my friends and family.
3.- Model – Miss Unity Netherlands 2025 Finalist – Miss Dreamdresses 2024 – Miss Beauty of Noord-Brabant 2024 Finalist . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I’ve always really enjoyed taking photos and sharing them on social media.
My journey into beauty pageants started when I was noticed on social media. I was scouted by five different girls to compete in my first pageant, which was of course a huge honor.
Beauty pageants can be quite addictive, and you go from one to another. There are so many of them, but for me, the most important thing is that I learn from each experience.
In my second pageant, I won a subtitle, Miss Dreamdresses 2024, which feels like a dream come true for me.
At the moment, I’ve become a finalist for Miss Unity Netherlands 2025, and I’m about to start a new journey full of fun and learning experiences.
I’m also aware that, with something like this, I become a role model for many girls, and I really want to be that. Everyone has their own story, and by sharing mine, I show that anyone can do this.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Evelien in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
When you see me, you’ll notice that I don’t have the standard height of a typical beauty queen or model.
I am a Miss Petite, and that’s what makes me stand out.
I find it very important to pursue what you love, no matter the challenges you may face, and that’s exactly what I want to show to everyone.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
The one quality every person should have is being true to yourself. By doing this, you will go the farthest. Do what you love and go for it.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I am definitely aware of this and truly enjoy doing it.
Many girls look up to me, and I often receive messages about it.
They often tell me that they want to do this too but don’t know how or feel insecure about certain things.
What I tell them is that everyone feels that way—so do I—but I enjoy it and learn from it.
So I encourage them to just go for it, despite any negative thoughts.
By showing what I do, I want to inspire everyone to set their goals and go for them wholeheartedly.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I have been doing this since I was a child, for example, appearing in commercials, voice-overs, or, of course, taking photos myself.
Every first time in front of the camera is nerve-wracking and takes some getting used to, but it’s amazing to see how that evolves on screen.
Competing in a beauty pageant for the first time is incredibly exciting—you meet new girls, share your story, and step out of your comfort zone. But by doing it, you learn so much from the experience.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I think it’s important to think three times about what you really want to post on social media.
Once it’s out there, it’s there forever, even if you take it down after a week.
That said, it’s also a great platform to make your voice heard and make a difference.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
If you want to reach and inspire everyone, it’s important to keep your social media up to date.
I use Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, as having all three helps you reach different audiences.
My favorite is still Instagram—I enjoy posting photos the most—but I’m learning to use TikTok and Facebook as well.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
Everyone has their own story and dreams, and it’s important to do what you love.
You often hear that not everyone is supported, and I find that very sad to hear.
As advice, I always tell people to go for it, no matter what others think—people will always have something to say, and that will never change.
My social media is always open for advice and support.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
Stay true to yourself; it’s your journey, and everyone has their own story. Never compare yourself to others.
12.- Evelien, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
It hasn’t been easy for me either.
I’ve always struggled with speaking in groups, and because of that, I would often hold back what I wanted to say.
But by pushing myself to do it, I’ve started to learn from the experience and realized how much we can actually help each other.
I admit it’s not something you can learn in a day, and I still find it challenging.
Recently, with Miss Unity Netherlands, we went around sharing what we stand for, and it was the first time I truly laid everything on the table.
What a relief that was!
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I really enjoy entertainment; my second job is as a hostess, and through this, I get to work at many different places and events.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I find it very sad to hear; no one should be treated like that. Respect is my number one priority.
Everyone is equal to me.
15.- Evelien, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is my mother, who raised me on her own, and this is also the focus of my advocacy.
It hasn’t been easy, and we’re still going through it.
My mother taught me the quote “What goes around comes around,” and I carry this with me every day.
I’m grateful that I learn something new every day and have the opportunity to grow.
16.- Evelien, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
Traveling the world is deeply rooted in my family, and it’s something I want to do as well. I would be honored to visit many different countries and experience diverse cultures.
On my bucket list, I want to see as much as possible, but if I had to choose a few, Australia is one of them, to visit friends of my late grandmother.
Right now, I would be incredibly honored to share my story and inspire others in India at Miss Unity World, which will be held in New Delhi.
If you come to the Netherlands, I highly recommend visiting our beautiful capital, Amsterdam. There’s so much to do and see there. I also suggest driving through Boxmeer to the Designer Outlet in Roermond, where I work in the store. Feel free to say hello if you see me, of course!

By answering this interview, I have learned a lot and put things into perspective. I hope everyone finds inspiration in this to simply do what they love, no matter what.
