1.- Charlaine, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born and raised in a city called ‘Utrecht’ located in The Netherlands. My city is very populair because of the canals where u can go for lunch/dinner or just enjoy the view. and that is also what i like the most about this place. But originally i would not want to stay here for the rest of my life i would love to move more to the countryside
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
My biggest hobby is that i own horses, 4 of them to be specific. this takes up half of my day and i still love to do it everyday, i hope to have a big show carrier some day in the horse sports. another hobby of mine is that i go to the gym, ive always been sort of insecure about my body so i decided to make a change. never stopped working out ever since, i even feel worse when i havent visited the gym for any longer then a day.
3.-International Model, Teen Diversity Netherlands 2024 Finalist. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I have never felt confident about myself and a friend of mine competed in pageants, she recommended this to me to feel better about myself and that was the moment i wanted to give it a try. and it has been a wonderful decision as i feel way better about myself ever sine i tried it out. and after the pageant is when people/photographers started reaching out to me to model for them and i plan on trying to make this a bigger thing in my life for the future!
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Charlaine in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
In my opinion there is no answer in this question as i think everyone is an equal in this. everyone has their own unique stamps in their life and i could not find an answer to tell u what mine are.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
I have came to the conclusion that the best thing a woman can do to show that they are a good model is to show that youre confident i think confidence is the most powerful thing a woman can wear!
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
Well i started myself by looking at other woman competing in pageants and they have really inspired me. i dont think im aware of the influence i might be to other girls but i would be proud of knowing that i might am!
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
First i felt really insecure about my features and i wasnt sure if i wanted to continue doing it as it was way out of my comfort zone. but i have come to the conclusion that u only life once soi stopped caring what other people might thought of me and i just started living!
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I think social media is a beautiful way to express yourself and help others, but i also think it sometimes has way to much influence on people their life and people should explore more of the world instead of spending all their time on social media
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I love to share my day/life on instagram as i notice a lot of people interact with me about just the things i post about my day and i hope to inspire people some day to just be themselves and do whatever they want to do.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I think i can say that i used to be one of those girls who didnt dare to take the step and the only advise i can give to that is that u will never be ready to take those steps and u will have to do it unready and step out of your comfort zone and at first that will be hard but at the end it will be so worth it!
I think parents should not have a say about their children’s talents if they do not support it. i mean i can disagree with it but u should support them anyways even if u dont agree with it because its their life and not yours and i think a lot of parents are forgetting that!
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I think the biggest thing ive learned is that no one really cares what u do with your life and almost everyone will support u in the pageantry world. i hear a lotof bad storys about pageantry and i dont know why because i have not experienced one bad thing in pageantry. i feel more confident about myself and i made a lot of new friends which im still very grateful for!
12.- Charlaine, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
I was really struggling with myself as i looked at all those pretty woman and started to feel even worse about myself but those woman really supported me and pageantry has made me realise that it doesnt matter if u have imperfections because everyone has those imperfections, no one is perfect. so i decided to step even more out of my comfort zone and i just pretended to be confident and that is what made me more confident
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I have indeed thought about this but i came to the conclusion that i think its not something i am good at.i have always been the worst in lying or pretending so this is just not for me.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
Great question, i think we can all agree that this societie is very messed up and woman are more abused/taken advantage of every year more and more. in my opinion its disgusting but i have to say i have no clue what we can do about it other than spread the information more and more
15.- Charlaine, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is looking at my past self, i do not recognise that version of me anymore and actually i want it to stay that way so i focus on growing even more and am really grateful for all the supportive people around me and also of the unsupportive people around me as they only give me motivation to be even better!
16.- Charlaine, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I havent traveled much but the places i traveled to i really enjoyed and i definitely plan on traveling more in the future i have been to spain which i really enjoyed but this year (2024) i went to amerika for the world championships in horseback riding and i can say i want to see more of this country than just texas and i would love to visit more countries like for example france, canada or thailand and if i have to recommend something from my own country in recommend amsterdam or to go dinning by the canals in utrecht
